When the faculty working day ends at Stevenson Elementary, it does not mean the finish of activity in the creating.

About 125 learners take part just about every afternoon in the Young children Club, the immediately after-university care program made available for college students in kindergarten via third grade.

The system, which operates 3-6 p.m., is designed to give youngsters with a protected and relaxed atmosphere with out the pressure of the usual college day, youngster treatment director Amy Gardner claimed.

“A lot of it is about the social aspect, just having a likelihood to be with their close friends and obtaining the likelihood to choose section in distinctive functions they opt for,” she claimed.

About 25 college students also choose part in the in advance of-college program that commences an hour prior to classes, Gardner claimed.

“Just about every week we have a various topic, and each day we have pursuits that relate to that week’s topic,” assistant director Carrie Kohler mentioned.

First-grader Vivian Logue works on an art project while attending the after-school program.
