STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) – Staunton’s mothers and fathers were up late Friday evening planning baked goods for Saturday’s bake sale to raise resources and protest the city’s proposed finances for the universities.

Proper at the rear of the farmer’s current market Saturday early morning was a corner of clean-baked sweets and disappointed mother and father speaking about how the proposed funding of the faculties is affecting them.

“As PTA customers – as dad and mom – we do stuff like this all the time to increase funds for our faculties, so we kinda desired to do it as an recognition builder. You know, we do our portion as mothers and fathers, and we’re just asking the city to do the bare minimal for our colleges,” Kristin Siegel, a mum or dad in Staunton Schools.

Mothers and fathers believe Staunton Schools have not been correctly funded for the past 3 yrs and they say they have to have to phase in with occasions like today’s bake sale.
